Tell Your Story!
Scripture: Isaiah 63-64, Psalm 107, John 2
Psalm 107:2 Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story…
Observation
Psalm 107 is a song of praise for God’s deliverance. It starts with this charge: “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.” Then it tells several stories of people wandering in the desert, sitting in dark prisons, fools suffering for their own sin, sailors tossed in a storm at sea. In each story there is a turning point: “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He delivered them from their distress.”
Application
Everyone has a story. And everyone’s story has some pain, trouble, or distress. If we call on the Lord, He will help us, deliver us, save us and strengthen us. When He does, we give thanks—and then we tell our story. “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.”
God is at work in our lives, and when He works, we want to thank Him, and tell the story. Look for God’s activity, and tell your story! It’s one of the simplest and most well received ways to give witness to God and His goodness. People can’t argue with your story. Even more, most people love a good story and will enjoy yours. And your story may plant the seed that sets others free and helps them call on the Lord. Stories are the most effective way to share the gospel and witness to Jesus. God uses them powerfully and it’s natural and easy.
So…Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story!
Prayer: Lord, thanks for hearing our call and answering us. Remind us to give thanks and tell our story!
I think it would be a great idea if there was a space on this blog where people were invited to share their times of when the Lord heard them and rescued them. :)
That’s a great idea Sabrina! If you’d like to get it started with your story, I’d be happy to figure out how that could look on our site! Feel free to post it here, or email it to andy@lifecenter.net.
