Do the right thing…now!

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 29-30, 3 John

2 Chronicles 29:3 In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the Lord’s temple and repaired them.

Observation

Hezekiah became king when he was 25 and he immediately began reforms. In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened, cleansed and rebuilt the temple, and then celebrated the Passover, triggering a huge revival.

He must have been thinking about this for some time during the evil reign of his idolatrous father. “When I become king…”. And when he did, he acted. Immediately.

Application

Sometimes we know the right thing to do and we hesitate. Or debate. Or question.

We need to act. Do the right thing. Now.

If you have the power to do the right thing, do it. Hezekiah didn’t hesitate. As soon as the throne was his, he acted. “In the first month of the first year…”

What right action have you been putting off? Hesitating? Go do it…now.

Prayer: Lord, help me today do what I know is right—now. Without hesitation or debate.
