Is there injustice with God?

Scripture: Romans 9

Romans 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not!

Observation

In these chapters (9-11) Paul tackles the thorny issue of Israel’s relation to the gospel and the new covenant. In verse 14 he raises and answers an important question: Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not!

God is sovereign and does what he wants. He has mercy on whom he wants. But can he ever be accused of injustice? No—absolutely not.

Application

I’ve been asked tough questions about God’s judgment in different situations, and I’ve answered that it is beyond my pay grade. I don’t know what God will do or decide, but I know that God is perfectly just. No one will be able to accuse him of injustice or unfairness.

There are many details I don’t know or can’t explain, but there are great truths that I rest upon. This is one: God is just. Always. Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not! This is my confidence.

Prayer: Lord, I love you. There are so many things I don’t know, but I know this: you are just. I lean on that truth and trust you.
