If you’re following Jesus, you can’t sit still, you have to move!
If you’re following Jesus, you can’t sit still, you have to move!
Rooted will help you find and follow Jesus! It’s a 10-week small group experience designed to help you grow personally, relationally, and spiritually.
Your Rooted group will be about twelve people plus two facilitators. You are given a workbook with short daily readings and reflection questions. This homework takes about 15-20 minutes a day for 5 days each week and is the basis for the discussion in your Rooted group. You’ll meet with your Rooted group once a week for 10 weeks to discuss what you’ve learned.
All the groups meet at Life Center on Sunday afternoons or Tuesday evenings.
Groups are formed primarily based on where you live in Spokane or the surrounding region. If you have more questions about Rooted, see the FAQ section below.
We run Rooted three times a year: fall, winter and spring. If you can’t do it this season, aim for the next!
Registration begins December 7, 2018 and will close January 13, 2019.
Rooted next session begins Tuesday January 22 at 6:30 pm. We will conclude with a Celebration Dinner on Friday, March 29, 2019.
BEFORE ROOTED …
I was busy and anxious. Today I am able to rest knowing God knows what’s best for me.
I doubted God could use me. Today I am being used by God!
I was unsure if God wanted me at Life Center. Today I am getting involved and volunteering.
I was attending this large church where I didn’t feel like I had a place. Today I feel like Life Center is my home church, and my Rooted group is like a family to me.
I was scared of who would be in my group, and scared to share things about myself. Today I feel like I can say anything in this group and not be judged.
I was disconnected and alone. Today I am feeling more relationally connected and open to God’s connections.
I was looking for new friends and a new church family. Today I found many new friends and a church family that has welcomed us with loving arms.
I was skeptical about Rooted. Today I have new friends, who I felt intimacy with right away.
I was searching for a way to connect at Life Center. Today I have found a small family within a huge congregation.
I wasn’t sure if I needed a Rooted experience. I had participated in several different groups at Life Center over the years and figured I had experienced it all. Today I Rooted has been a wonderful and needed experience.
I was skeptical that the content of Rooted was too simplistic and basic. Today I am super impressed by the excellent content. Rooted is way better than I thought.
I had no interest in Rooted. I thought I knew all I needed. Today I realize how wrong I was, and my understanding is much deeper.
I did not want to do Rooted, but I did it for my wife. Today I can’t wait to go to Rooted on Tuesdays and am getting a lot out of it.
I was not connected to a lot of people my age. Today I have gained 12 really good friends.
I was standing still in my faith. Today I am moving forward with a firm faith.
I was really struggling in my marriage. Today I have a group of strong friends to lean on. Rooted saved my marriage!
I was feeling discouraged and very lost. Today I feel strong and protected.
I was broken, alone, sad, confused, and angry. Today I am hopeful.
I was curious about God and longing for a deeper relationship. Today I am fulfilled, motivated, and renewed!
I had a very basic relationship with God. Today I am excited about my faith for the first time in my life.

This Winter and Spring we are offering an Extended Schedule Rooted group specifically designed for members of the Military, those in Public Service, and those who work irregular or rotating schedules. We’ve heard from many people who’s schedules don’t allow them to attend Rooted because they have irregular hours or rotating days off. This Rooted group is designed specifically for you! We please ask that you only register for this Rooted group if your schedule will not allow you to attend Rooted on the typical schedule.
This Rooted group will meet on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 PM and Sundays from 9:00-11:00 AM. The main thing that sets this group apart, though, is that it will host each week of Rooted twice in a row. As an example, while a normal Rooted schedule runs Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, etc. The Extended Rooted schedule will run Week 1, Week 1, Week 2, Week 2, etc. This will give multiple chances for participants with irregular or rotating schedules to attend. Participants only need to attend one group meeting for each of the weeks.
The extended nature of this Rooted schedule means, of course, that it will run twice as long as the typical Rooted session. This Rooted group will begin meeting on January 22 and have their last meeting on June 4. They will attend the Rooted Celebration with the main Spring session on June 28.

Rooted groups are formed primarily based on your geographic location in Spokane or the surrounding region. So if you live up north, in the Spokane Valley, or on the South Hill, you’ll be placed into a group of people who live near you. Your location takes precedence over your age or marital status when groups are formed, so you’ll likely end up in a group of mixed ages and stages of life. We’ve found that these groups are the most exciting, so this is our default group type.
We recommend that Rooted participants not miss more than two meetings for two reasons. First, if you miss three or more weeks, you will not get the full experience. Second, your group will be affected. You will miss out on things that are shared, which will affect the group dynamic when you return.
We have three sessions of Rooted each year, so we recommend sitting down with your calendar before you register. If you know you will miss more than two of the weekly group meetings, consider joining a following session.
In an effort to remove every obstacle that could prevent you from attending we have onsite child care services available for children 10 years of age and younger. Child care costs $25 per child for the whole session. All child care is provided by paid employees who have completed necessary background checks. Please register each child in addition to yourself.
